1. Correctly determining the number of uses, the grinding interval of high-speed steel rollers depends on the oxide film on the surface of the rollers and the maintenance of roughness after each shutdown. Generally, the front frame can be used 3-7 times, the rear frame can be used 2-4 times, and the high-speed steel rollers can even be used more than 10 times.


2. To avoid roll failure through roll surface inspection, high-speed steel rolls should be immediately water-cooled or air-cooled after unloading to ensure the elimination of thermal expansion before next use. High speed steel rolls are prone to thermal cracks. If abnormal shutdown occurs, high-speed steel rolls should be replaced immediately. To avoid failure accidents such as roll peeling, ultrasonic flaw detectors should be used to detect surface cracks on cooled rolls.


3. Use professional tools to enhance the grinding effect. Due to the high hardness and difficulty of high-speed steel rollers, special grinding wheels and automatic grinding machines should be used. After grinding, eddy current and ultrasonic flaw detectors should be used to perform composite flaw detection on the surface of the rollers. After grinding, the high-speed steel rollers of ordinary machine tools can retain slight thermal cracks for use on the machine tool. However, for high-speed steel rollers that are tripped in rolling accidents, On the basis of grinding, a certain amount of grinding should be added to remove cracks on the surface of the roll.
